Navajo Ranch

Navajo Ranch Information

Navajo Ranch Estates and Navajo Ranch Resorts is a Covenant Enhanced Community.

The Navajo Ranch HOA membership meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Navajo Western Water District building.

Any construction, structural change or modification to an existing structure, proposed in any filing of Navajo Ranch requires review and approval of the Architectural Review Committee, as required in each individual covenant, in addition to any other requirements by State and Huerfano County.

Navajo Ranch has its own community water system, which is served by the Navajo Western Water District, a state regulated public utility governed by the laws of Colorado. The central plant water system is served by a series of wells that tap an underground stream that originates at the base of Mount Mestas and Silver Mountain directly to the west of the Navajo Ranch community.

For detailed information regarding water hook-ups, rates and winterization, see the NWWD website:   Navajo Western Water District - Welcome | 705 Navajo Road, Walsenburg, CO

Navajo Ranch Fire Mitigation

Navajo Ranch Fire Mitigation

For Ips beetle mitigation, when cutting or trimming green Pinon pines, the daytime temperatures should be below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This is when the beetle is dormant. This is usually November through March. Cuttings need to be removed, chipped, or shredded before the outdoor temperature warms up. It is ok to remove dead trees at any time.

If you are doing any cutting or mitigation on your property, please fill out the Tree Trimming and Removal Form.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, contact the Huerfano County Fire Department.
